I really enjoyed the changing of the Guard at Horse Guards parade.
Horse Guards is a large parade ground off Whitehall.It`s named after the soldiers that have protected the Sovereign since 1660.I had been to the Palace earlier on to watch the changing of the guards there but I knew
at 11.00am The New Guard arrives at Horse Guards Parade and at 11.30 the Old Guard leaves. An amazing spectacle.

The Ceremony
The Old Guard assembles up on the North side of the enclosure.
In the distance you can see the New Guard progressing down Whitehall.
When the New Guard arrives the trumpeters of both the Old and New Guard sound a Royal Salute.
The sentries of the first group leave for the Guard Room.
The New Guard then ride through the arch where they will dismount and the horses led to their stables

In June each year Trooping the Colour, also known as 'The King's Birthday Parade', takes place on Horse Guards Parade in London.
