We got a face-to-face meeting with some of Africa’s gentle giants at one of the best Elephant Sanctuary’s in South Africa. During our elephant encounter,we touched their rough grey skin, walked hand-in-trunk and got to feed them.
You could see the special relationship that the handlers had with their elephants.Loved them myself. The Sanctuary started in 1999.
These Elephants have been domesticated through positive reinforcement animal management principles, and as a result, provide us with the unique opportunity to interact with them.
The elephant’s memory surpasses that of humans
Elephants spend as many as 18–20 hours a day feeding and drinking.
