I know Edinburgh quite well but every time I go there I find another gem.
This time- I found Dean village. It would blend in nicely out in the Lothian countryside but it is within walking distance of the city centre.

Naturally--When you are there you must take plenty of images of Dean Village. It is very picturesque. Beautiful streets-- that date back to the 12th Century.It was home to a large milling industry.
The Village is now a popular residential area. Over the years It fell into disarray but was restored in the sixties.

Water of Leith flows through the village. You can walk the route of the river on a well kept footpath. There is a bridge designed by the famous architect Thomas Telford. Lookout for the 18th century medicinal well of St Bernard.
Dean Village is a tranquil oasis in a great city.
