Killin April 2021

Another Saturday-Another roadtrip in our beloved Scotland.This time we headed to one of my favourite villages in Scotland.Yes-- you have guessed by the photographs it`s Killin. The star attraction is the beautiful Falls of Dochart .You can`t miss it as it flows right under the Killin bridge right on the Main street.

We left home around 10 and drove along the Stockiemuir road passed the new Carbeth drivein. On the site of the popular Carbeth Inn.The weather was dull but dry. After a short while we arrived in Drymen. The Journey is straight forward.Following the signs for the small town of Callander  On that route we pass the Lake of Menteith -Which is thought to be the only lake in Scotland. 
Just after Callander we make our first stop at the picturesque Loch Lubnaig.
Great views up the loch. Great place for water sports.
On the road again we drive through the towns of Strathyre and Lochearnhead.
Then we  enter Killin . First thing you pass is the Killin War Memorial.

After a short time we were are at the Falls of Dochart. Right next to the main street and across the road from inn of the same name.We drive through the village to park the car next to the Breadalbane park. Across from the Killin hotel.In the distance you can see Ben Lawers. The 10th highest mountain in Scotland.
We get some coffee out of Shutters.A great wee place. Friendly staff and the cakes were brill too.We take our drink to the benches out side the inn and enjoy our packed lunch there. After our lunch we wander over the rocks at the falls.In the winter this is not possible due to the height of the river.

Killin is a great wee place.Sadly many places were closed due the Covid rules but hopefully it won`t be long till we can enjoy the Falls of Dochart inn`s Haggis neeps and tatties. Hope you have enjoyed my day in Killin .
