Another Saturday-Another cool place for lunch
This time we picked-The Fintry Inn.Sad to say the Inn was closed down due to the ongoing Virus. So we ended up in the Crosskeys Kippen.
We started by driving along one of our favourite roads. Stockiemuir road. Great views. Kilpartick hills close by and Ben Lomond in front of us.After you pass Carbeth you start to see the Campsie hills on the east.
We stay on the Stockiemuir till you get to Craighat. Here you turn right. You will see people walking to the entrance of the Devil`s pulpit. You follow the signs for Killearn. As you travel through the village you see signs for Fintry.
We were very disappointed to find the Fintry inn shut. So we turned round and drove to Kippen and enjoyed lunch in the Crosskeys. It`s a traditional village inn. Food is good and it has a great atmosphere. You can sit out the front /the beer garden or in the pub it`s self. There is a friendly Labrador.Who is one of the stars of the pub.
On our return route we stop at another one of our favourite towns.
Buchlyie. Enjoy a drink in the Tavern.
As I was working in the morning we only had a few hours spare. We feel we made the most of it. Around some of the most prettiest villages closed to the Campsies.
