The Stars of the Empire Builder
We met many people on our train trip from Chicago to Seattle.
We met a very large Man city fan,a Japanese couple on their honeymoon and a religious couple who asked us to pray with them.
The Gentleman was a pastor and his wife were very much into the Church.
He asked if we minded if they said Grace-- before we had dinner.
No problem I said. He grabbed my hand and his wife grabbed Lorna`s hand.
We joined hands and thanked the Lord for our food.

The main highlight of our trip across USA
was my first ever time in the company of Amish people.
The Amish are known for simple living, plain dress, and reluctance to adopt many conveniences of modern technology.Bearing children, raising them, and socializing with neighbours and relatives are the greatest functions of the Amish family. All Amish believe large families are a blessing from God.
At first most people think these people strange but they are friendly.
We were sat next to them in observation carriage.
After a few friendly hello`s we start explaining where we come from.
These guys were heading to an Amish community way out west.
This was the first time they had been on a train. We told them all about our country.
They smiled. Then I brought out my phoned and the teenagers said WOW.
Have a look I said. They show us their very old phones. I used the camera and video to give them an idea what modern phones could do.
You could say these people are a bit stuck in time but if they are happy-- who cares.
The youngsters went out of their way to talk to us and really loved hearing about Scotland. I told them about that monster in a lake in Scotland. Their mouth were wide open till I laughed.
