Well it has came to the time to retire.After years of lifting bits of steel I have decided to give it up.

What I spent my gift on from Band M staff
Well more than six month since I left my work. I had worked since I was sixteen. Good times-Bad times--Met some really interesting people-Good people and made many friends. Even worked with not so nice human beings. I try to remember the happier times.
Never forget my last day. Walking out the gate for the last time.
So how has retirement been?
Day after I left work we headed to Europe. Great adventure -Germany,Austria and Italy. Even got to the highest railway train station in Europe. Thanks to the workers at Band M`s kind gesture.
It was great to come home without having that --back to work feeling.
Everyone hates that.
After returning from that trip it hit me. I went out at night without the pain of having to get up at 5.00am. I can book appointments for anytime of the day. The usual boring things can be done during working hours.
What people forget- If you have retired you still get problems.Even big problems.

Downside- Not having a purpose in life. Feeling every day is the same. Missing the buzz of Fridays. Staying up to watch crap late night TV. Your fitness goes down a bit but I have not been as tired
as working days.

The Upside wins hands down. My travels have increased. Dictated by the cost. Cheap cruise, week in the Algarve and cheap as chips caravan holiday. When I have time I browse the net looking for bargains. Holidaying off season makes it easy.
We are out most days for a long walk. [At least 10000 steps] Once a week we make a point of having lunch out. Normally in Helensburgh but sometimes further afield. The free bus travel is brilliant and we get plenty of use out of it.

Robert we went to Paris for the day.
The last six month has been good. Finally I am getting used to not calling it my work. I have to moved on.
Cash is not as good as before but we manage.
Hopefully I can still have a few beers with my former work mates.
Still remember the fun times but there are tons of great adventures ahead.
