Here we go. My top ten places I love to visit on the banks of Loch Lomond. Now this is a hard task. It is one of my favourite places on earth.
Luss is a beautiful village on the west bank of the loch. STV- TV programme Take the High Road was set in the village. It was known as Glendarroch. Great place for views of Ben Lomond.
At the South end of the loch is Balloch. Some times known as the gateway to Loch Lomond. The last chance to stock up with grocery's before the highlands.River Leven flows in to the Loch here. If you're lucky you can spot the colourful Mandarin ducks on the Leven. Sweeney boat trips leave from Balloch.
My favourite boat trip on the loch is the mail boat run.The Macfarlane family have been running the mail service on the Loch since 1948. You can join the boat at Balmaha. Knowledgeable captain.

Ben Lomond
Number one. It can been seen from most places around Loch Lomond. It`s like a castle towering high above it`s grounds. We use it to guess the weather. If we can see the summit it`s going to be a good day. It`s 3,196 ft tall.On the eastern shore.
