Ski lifts of the Europe
As an amateur travel photographer I have experienced some breathtaking views. Many from the heights of Europe`s top mountain ranges. You feel like you sitting on top of the world. Like a bird high in the sky.

You think I would be writing about winter sports adventures.No-I have only used the lifts to venture high up to do some hiking or to visit a special place for lunch. We did take the Fjellheisen aerial tramway in Tromso --Norway December 2019 .That was only for a short while to capture views of the city. Not in the Alps but what a thrill.
Most common types of ski lifts
Chairlifts
Scary type- where you sit on a bench yourself.Hope your tied in tight as climb up the mountain.
Gondola Lifts
An enclosed carriage that can hold a group of people. My favourite way to travel up a mountain.
Cable Cars
One car goes up and one goes down. Can fill up at both top and bottom
Pass each other in the middle of the journey.
Tram Lift
More packed in.Not much personal space!
A funicular
More of a city transportation up steep inclines but many tourism spots have them.

Some mountain peaks can only be accessed via Ski lift.
Please note these lifts can be expensive.Try to get a local transport pass.Which may cover a few cable cars and give you opportunity to use the transport system.

At summer the lifts are open to give hikers, mountain bikers, rock climbers time to enjoy their Alps.Worth going up just to enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the Alps.
