Northern Lights Tour
We decided to head North to catch a glimpse of the Aurora Borealis.
We booked a search for the Northern lights tour through Tartan Travel.
That was a mistake. We should have planned the trip ourselves.
The day started well. Coach turned up bang on time. 11.30am
The biggest problem of the weekend it took 2hrs 45 mins to pick up all the other passengers--After Glasgow- Our stops were Hamilton,Bathgate,Edinburgh,Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy. The last pick up took 30mins there and 30mins back on route. We arrived at our hotel[Waterside] at 6.00 pm. Dinner was 6.30 and our Northern lights tour left at 7.30.
To much time wasted on route.To make things worse-- The Northern lights tour was poor.I was 99percent sure we would not see the lightshow but I wanted to enjoy the hunt.

Queensferry crossing
We only had time to visit one destination to have a look. Time was short due to the drivers driving hours. Tartan travel picked Cullen beach. Not our choice of venue.Looked a nice seaside resort.We also passed through Banff,Mac Duff and Portsoy. Must have a longer visit soon.

I know I have been very critical of our trip but it was not all bad.
The driver was super but had to follow his instructions from his company.
Hotel and food were good.The coach was very modern and perfect for long distances.
So would I book a trip like this again? Maybe but would to check pickups before booking.
