Hogmanay 2013 and New year's morning 2014
The town is famous for its Fireball Ceremony every New Year eve.
I had the pleasure of going there in 2014. We actually stayed in Aberdeen and travelled down. I was there blogging for visit Scotland. Scotland`s tourist board. There is a board telling you about the Fire festival.

Stonehaven was a popular seaside resort before package holidays were invented.Close to Aberdeen on the east coast.
The beach at the southern end of the town is nicer .Sandier which make s it busier.

Below are some of the bathers who took part of yearly New year`s dook. The harbour was first built around 1607 but was destroyed by storms.1875 Robert Stevenson and his team rebuilt the Harbour works were constructed successfully. Sad to say there is no longer a Fish Market. The harbour is more for recreation ships.
Had the pleasure of watching the new year dook in 2014--Rather them than me.
Stonehaven is home to some outstanding eateries including the Seafood Bothy which is found near the harbour. Bay Fish & Chips are good too.
