We were back in Germany.Based in Buchholz.
A small town just outside Hamburg.
We flew into Hamburg airport in the early evening.We had to meet my brother in law Alan in the main railway station.
We struggled a bit to get our train ticket.
Kind local rushed over to help us with the ticket machine.Then he stuck his hand out for a few euro`s.A bit of scam but deserved two euro`s for his help.
It took around 23 minutes to travel to the city centre by train.

Bang on time we met up with Alan.Mrs B was over the moon to see her young brother.We hadn`t seen him since September
After throwing our bags in we walked down to Buchholz to see the Christmas Market.
Next up it was dinner.Super meal at a Greek restaurant -The Athena. Good place

Day 2 Luneburg
After a great breakfast.Alan kindly drove us down to the beautiful town of Luneburg. The weather was not kind to us but it didn`t stop us enjoying ourselves. It as if there was Christmas markets at every corner.
We enjoyed English Tea at Johnsons Tea room.
After a bit of a search for where we parked our car-It`s back to Buchholz.
At night we went to the Hacienda.A Brazilian Steakhouse.
We really enjoyed the fun of getting a eat all you want carvery delivered to your table.Food was amazing.

Day3 Hamburg
After another good breakfast, we head for the train station.
We bought an allday ticket which was super value for us.
We used it on underground,overground trains,buses and a ferry trip down the River Elbe.

When in the city we walked through the crowds of Christmas shoppers.The city was looking good with it`s Christmas coat on.
The shops,squares and markets were merry,festive and full of people. Great city to visit at Christmas time.

In the afternoon we enjoyed a ferry trip down the river Elbe.

After the ferry trip we took the local bus to Altona area of Hamburg.Another Christmas market. Here we enjoy some local food.

At night we take the lift up to the Up20 Skyline bar. The beer was very expensive and very small but the view was superb.
Next up was Hamburg`s Christmas parade. Super.Really got us in the mood for festive period.
Last port of call a few beers at a bar across from the main train station.We say our good byes to Alan. Take the S bahn to the Airport.We stay the night at a hotel across from the Airport.
