How time flys. A year has passed since I worked in Band M steels.
Many good times were had and few bad days too. When I left It never really hit me. I had a nightout which was really good. I said my goodbyes and recived a kind gift.

The first month was perfect. A two-week adventure to Europe.
Train journey across Germany, Austria,Italy and Switzerland.
Wish included a trip up Zugspitze. Which is the highest mountain in Germany. Visited Innsbruck. Ventured through the Alpine Towns.
We did get to Mals in Italy. Lovely town.

If it was not for the staff of B and M I would not have made the highest railway station in Europe- The Jungfaujoch. A day I will never forget. Following we visited many interesting towns and finally back to Munchen for flight home.
Later in the month we enjoyed a week in Tummel valley. We love Caravan holidays. When you retire you have freedom to go of season. We have had so many great deals.
In September we had another European adventure. This time to Lake Garda. Stunning part of Italy. Great journey there. Staying In Rothenburg, Trento and Verona.
Our base at Lake Garda was the stunning Limone. From here we ferry hopped.

September we had the pleasure of going to Ashley and Derek wedding down in Ayr. Superb day out.
In October we had a caravan holiday in Berwick upon Tweed.
Our last trip of the year was on Dec 2022.We took a cruise round the Canaries on the P&O Azura for 7 nights. Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Maderia and Tenerife. Now that was a great deal.
Oct 26-- Day trip to London. Very enjoyable day out.

Christmas was fun. We had the whole family round. It was Jessica`s birthday. So, she was the star of the show.
Jan 6th, we flew to Portugal for a lovely winter break. Albufiera. The Weather ok for Jan. Beer was very cheap. Great hotel but wee bit from Old town. Uber was easy to use and cheap. Really enjoyed our winter break. The sun always helps. Superb.
Gale beach was super. On Tuesday I fell and cut my leg. Felt like crying but I soldiered on.

We started our tour of Eastern Algarve with a visit to the capital of the region. Faro has a 13th century old city centre. We had plenty of time to explore.

23rd Jan I did a tour of the Belhaven brewery. Which is in Dunbar. Very good.
Next few weeks we stayed local. March 6th we a fun weekend in Newcastle.
16th April we flew out to the Spanish resort of Torrevieja. A great week in the sun. Big thank you to our friends Carol and Stevie for the kind gesture.

April 26th I enjoyed my 65th birthday in Torrevieja. The following
Saturday I had the pleasure of being at The festival of the Moors and Christians. Which takes place in Alcoy every year. Alcoy is a large Spanish town.

On the Thursday I got the strangest birthday present. A visit to The Pink Lake of Torrevieja and the amazing Salt Mountains.
The following day we went to Benidorm. We really enjoyed our day trip last week. Good food -a few beers and huge sandy beach.

Work --I do miss the Friday feeling but don`t miss Sunday night feeling.
I miss being one of the guys. Most great fun people.
I have mentioned all my good memories but sadly their bad times.
We lost Lorna`s cousin Peter-- a good guy

Well today I officially retire from work. I was so fortunate to retire two years early. The time has past very fast. Done and seen so many wonderful things. I miss some the patter in a yard. Met some good folk but time moves on.
