Big thanks to Alan who was our tour guide for the trip. Alan [Lorna`s brother] travelled down from Hamburg to join us in Munich. We also had the pleasure of Alan`s son Christopher joining us in Ladis for a few days.
Day1 Munich ~ Visited the square and saw the famous clock which was so nice to see. We went up St. Peters Tower and we could see all over Munich. Went to Beirgarden Restaurant for a typical Munchen meal which was delicious. Really enjoy Munich. One of my favourite cities.

Day2 Alan picked us up at around 11.30am and we were on our way to Meersburg which is on Lake Constance via Neusweinstein Castle which looks a bit like Disneys castle. We visited a beautiful little town called Fussen and our first taste of alpine architecture. We then went to Lindau and we had our first sight of the lake. We arrived in Meersburg. We had a beautiful room overlooking the lake /Where we could see Constance, Switzerland and Austria.
Day3 Switzerland ~ Today we are on our way to the beautiful city of Bern - bypassing Zurich. Eventually we found the bears. Cute and Cuddley. Met a guy from Stirling who has been working there for a few years. We left Bern and visited Lake Brienz which has a beautiful setting with mountains all around. Had our lunch and sat in the sun with a long cooling drink. We then went to Grindlwald where we really saw the mountains Jungfrau and our mountain Pfingslegg which we took a gondola up.The scenery was just gorgeous.
Day4 Constance for the day. Lovely town. Did a little shopping and had a nice lunch. In the evening we went to Meersburg Upper Town which was so quaint where we had a great dinner.
Day5 Decided to take a cruise as the weather was unkind to us and it kept us out of the rain. We sailed to Stein am Rhine which is in Switzerland crossed a little bridge and we were back in Germany again. Loved how the border snakes round and round. One minute your in one country then you back into another country.
Caught a bus which took us to Radofszell where we had a typical snack of pancakes and apple sauce. Train back to Uberlinging then bus to Meersburg. At night we went to our favourite restaurant just round the corner from our hotel -- fish and vegetables. Tonight s our last night in lovely Meersburg. Tomorrow we are off to Ladis which is in the Austrian Tyrol.

Day6 Ladis ~ On our way to Ladis we visited Vaduz in Liechtenstein, Which is a nice we town with a most attractive castle. Popped into Closters to see where the Royals spend their winter holidays skiing. Nice setting. Davos then drove up and over the Fluela pass. When we reached the top we had some lunch and some lovely apple strudel and coffee. Scenery absolutely breathtaking. Picked Christopher up in Landeck and then on to our hotel in Ladis. Our room had the most beautiful view. Mountains all around.

Day7 We went gorge walking in a little village called Pfunds
Day8 Took the local bus to Serfaus and took the ski lift to top for walking to Fruglarsee. Lots of snow there. Rocks which had fallen as an avalanche. Saw our first Marmot. Cute wee things.
Day9 Drive to Kaunertal Valley ~ Scenery breathtaking. Probably the best one could ever see. Mountains, Glaciers, snow and lakes. Decided to go up on the ski lift where we hopped into Italy then Austria again. We also had a beautiful view from there. Picked up Christopher and rode the ski lift from Ladis to Fizz which is a small town next to Ladis.
Day10 Konigsee ~ via Innsbruk for lunch then Salzburg where we dropped Christopher for him to catch his train back to Vienna. Drove on to Konigsee which was set in amongst the montains and the lovliest lake.
Day 11 Walking locally [Ladis area]
Day12 Took a bus to Berchtesgaden. Berchtesgaden is a municipality in the German Bavarian Alps. There is the Kehlsteinhaus (nicknamed "Eagle's Nest" by a French diplomat), which was built as a present for Hitler's 50th birthday in 1939.
Day13 Bus to Salzburg for the day. Only takes about 45 mins Beautiful city which offers lots to visit and see. Had a lovely traditional lunch. Back to Konigsee for our usual evening meal which was always lovely.
Day 14 Up for breakfast and our journey back to Munich via Reichenhall for a little last minute shopping. Arrived at Munich airport dropped off car and headed to the beer garden for some dinner before saying goodbye to Alan (who planned our trip and did all the driving). Departure lounge for us and journey home to sunny Scotland.
