Husky one of the oldest modes of transport in human history.
We had the pleasure of taking part in a Dog sledge ride during our trip to Tromso in Norway. The Arctic explorers used dog sleds to reach the North and South Pole. Even today they still used by the Sámi, the indigenous people of the Arctic, and many other inhabitants of cold and remote places.

Early morning we left Tromsø. We travelled in a mini bus to the nearby island Kvaløya. After thirty minutes we are at Hege’s and Per-Thore’s farm. Our hosts for our experience.
To start with I mushed and controlled the brake , and Mrs B sat on front and assisted me with the steering. Half way through the journey we changed position.
We dressed up in Arctic gear to protect us from the cold.
After an exciting 15km route, we were greeted back at the kennel with coffee and Hege’s famous homemade chocolate cake in a traditional Sámi lavvu.
We mushed our own team of dogs through pristine snow covered valleys.
