The capital of fun. Most visited place in Portugal’s Algarve region. Albufeira is a perfect holiday destination. You’ve got the old town, many super beaches and the Strip for crazy parties. The weather is good 12 months a year. Be warned-- a lot of bars and restaurants are closed during winter.
The perfect place for water sports but we used to love strolling the beach with the water rushing through our toes. Even in January the water is not that cold.
White washed buildings makes the Old town special.
I loved wandering the cobbled streets. The text books say there is 100 family-friendly restaurants and pubs. I have only sampled a few but hopefully return someday.

With a year-round population of 50,000, the city swells to over 300,000 in the summer. .We spoke to many people and they said the place comes alive late March.
The main square, Largo Duarte Pacheco, is surrounded by bars and cafes.
I dodged taking photographs here. It is spoilt by ugly looking bars and tacky shops.
