Another stunning city in the France s Alsace area. It has storybook villages and castles perched on hills. The city is know for its Christmas festival. We enjoyed a daytrip during our 2024 visit to the Black Forest region.

Half-timbered townhouses
Strasbourg has wonderful architecture. Looks like Tudor times.
The city is located on the west bank of river Rhine. Place Kléber -The city’s main square filled with places to eat and shop.

Our favorite part of the city is La Petite France. The most photogenic area of the city. It is a small area between the rivers, just south of the Grande. Lots of narrow cobbled streets.
Cathédrale Notre-Dame
The cathedral is undoubtedly Strasbourg's finest architectural highlight, and one of the more impressive Gothic churches in France.
142-meter tower, it was the tallest building in the world from 1647 to 1874.

Cathédrale Notre-Dame is well worth a visit. We loved it.
One of my favorite things I loved while in the French city was its rivers and canals. The city’s old town is an island surrounded by the River Ill and lots of canals.

Sadly never made it to see the famous European Parliament. Something to see next time we visit.
