Welcome to Straubing.
​Sadly we only walked from the train station to the beer festival.
Thats all we seen of the town.

Now this was fun. Beer,beer and more beer. Music and traditional dress. We got a seat right up the front and close to the stage. 

Gäubodenvolksfest
Over the last two centuries, Straubing has become Bavaria's second largest beer festival. The highlight in the region's calendar of events.

In 1812, the Bavarian King Maximilian I. Joseph "graciously" granted the people of Straubing permission to hold an agricultural festival in the "Lower Danube district". Over the course of two centuries

There are around 27,500 seats in seven marquees Around 1.4 million visitors from all over the world.

To ensure that spontaneous visitors also have a good chance of getting a place in the tents, the festival hosts in Straubing keep at least 40 percent of all seats free for spontaneous visitors.
Reservations can only be made directly with the festival hosts.
