Salou June 2023
We stayed at the Hotel Best San Francisco. Which is set in the lively heart of Salou. Not too far from the Capellans and Levante Beaches. Our digs were two streets up from the strip. This street is Carles Buigas. It`s has loads of bars and restaurants and the usual tourist shops. If you want typical Spanish cuisine skip this area.
Not sure if Salou is the place for you.

Our hotel was very good and would recommend it to anyone.
The food was very good. Nice swimming pool.
Only fault we found was the entertainment was poor.
We were out most of the day. So it didn`t affect us.

The resort is a perfect base to explore the Costa Dourada area.

Port Aventura, Spain's largest theme park, is on the doorstep in Salou; plus there are several water parks and a zoo. We missed it out. We are a bit of spoiled. Nothing beats Orlando.

Friday
Ferry to Cambrils. It takes around 30mins. Next village south of Salou. Lovely town with a super beach. We had a good walk along the promenade. Then we had an enjoyable lunch.
Have a look at Cambrils.

Saturday, We had a walk along the shore of the Medititerean sea. We had time for a dip in the sea.
Sunday Day trip Tarragona and La Pineda
Tarragona has a tree lined walkway right through the middle of the city. With loads of places to eat and drink on the sidewalk and even a castle to wander round.

Daytrip to Barcelona
I have many pages on Barcelona. It is a great city break. One of my favorites. We took the open top bus tour around the city. Great way to see loads on a short time. We got off to see Sagrada Familia.

Another day at the Platja Els pilons beach. This time we walked father along to Playa de Ponent beach. It was our last day so we went down to our favorite beach bar. Chringuito Cambrils.

Paseo Maritimo
Paseo Marítimo is the main promenade. It is runs next to the sea.
It is a very long walkway, Perfect place to have a leisurely stroll.
