Großglockner
This High Alpine Road is 48km (30 miles) long. To enter it is 40 Euros but worth every penny. The scenery is amazing. Quite busy in places. It is a challenge or thrill. Whatever you want to call it.
Round those crazy corners. The mad bikers go fast. Too fast at times.

Grossglockner Pass
We tried to drive the world-famous Grossglockner pass in June 2022 Stunning scenary. There are 36 hairpin bends. A challenge to most. Sadly we had to cancel due to poor weather.
Sept 2023
The sunshine was out and we had another go. We were staying in Bavaria so we were not too far from the Austrian border.

The route is named after the Großglockner, Austria's highest mountain. It`s 3,798m tall, and lookout for its hugh glacier. The Pasterze. It links the state of Salzburg with the state of Carinthia.
Almost a million people drive the pass. It`s begins at Fusch-Ferleiten and ends at Heiligenblutarin.

The road follows ancient trails as people crossed the Hochtor almost two-thousand years before Christ. The road as you see it today was planned from 1924 but it took 5 years to built. Between 1930 and 1935. 4000 labourers were needed for the project andopen it to visitors on August 3rd, 1935.

Once again-I would like to say we were lucky with the weather.
Plan your trip ahead. We had to cancel our trip in July 2022 due to weather.
