Sad to say the ticket salesman was missed informed. On Saturday I went to Central station in Glasgow to find there was no trains to Dumfries due to industrial action. After much thought I decided to go to Lockerbie and travel through by bus. Solway Tours contacted me and kindly said they would pick me up from there. Brilliant
Only prob was my train arrived in Lockerbie at 8.30 and was getting picked up at 10.30. No real problem I went for a wander with my camera. After that I enjoyed a coffee in Cafe 91.
Friendly staff. Checked my social media and read the local paper. This passed a lot of time.

First stop on our tour was Caerlaverock Castle (castle of the lark) It`s unique triangular shape makes it a bit more special.

This was one of my highlights of the weekend. Really felt I was back to the days of the borders wars between Scotland and England. We learned so much from our new friends Mark and Lesley. Their motto is Celebrating Scotland`s with you.
Spot on.

We had a lovely afternoon tea at the Abbey Cottage. Cakes to die for. Friendly staff and nice surroundings. Really busy but we had a table reserved.
Next stop was Sweetheart Abbey - Must be the most famous Abbey. The Abbey was founded in 1273 by Lady Devorgilla in memory of her husband John Balliol. When she passed away her body
was put in the high altar of the Abbey. A casket with her husbands heart was placed behind her.
