Kilpatrick Hills May2020
Today`s Lockdown walk took us into the country. The weather was perfect. During the week I had walked to the Jaw reservoir.Which I really enjoyed. Today we walked up to the Greenside. Kilpatrick hills are very accessible from our home in Clydebank.
Today`s Lockdown walk took us into the country. The weather was perfect. During the week I had walked to the Jaw reservoir.Which I really enjoyed. Today we walked up to the Greenside. Kilpatrick hills are very accessible from our home in Clydebank.
Our walk started in Cochno road. There are two ways to get to the Greenside. There is the official path or you can take the farm road.
We took the Farm road.It is a flatter walk.We wanted to save our feet so we could walk a bit further.

We found it strange that we didn't see a single plane all day.
If you look over the River Clyde you can see the airport.
The walk up was very pleasant. The yellow plant Broome is seen at this time of the year. Very special.

We were not disappointed when we arrived at the reservoir.
The view was cool.We enjoyed watching a hawk searching for its prey.I get a buzz out of walking in the Kilpatrick hills. I love the quiet. All we heard was a cuckoo in the distance. That was to change. You must be on the hills as early as possible to avoid the majority of the walkers. Nothing better than getting a hill to yourself. Should I say me and Mrs B.

We walk to the trig point of Cochno hill. left to right.
Below the Erskine Bridge crossing the River Clyde. We saw down the river to Greenock. Even seen the Gareloch in the distance.
As we turn round a bit we see the Humphrey Reservoir.Next up is the Duncombe. The highest point the Kilpatrick hills. In the distance is the snow capped Ben Lomond. As we walk for a short while we are back above the Greenside. By now it is very busy down at the water. We walk passed and down the road to the start point of our walk.
Really enjoyed our walk.
