Welcome to one my favourite seaside resorts in Scotland. Maybe more famous for it`s cathedral. We stayed five days in right in the centre of town. Lots of places to eat and drink. We loved to eat in Sutherland House. Sutherland has a wonderful welcoming atmosphere. That`s on Argyle street.

Dornoch Castle Hotel is situated opposite the wonderful Dornoch Cathedral. It is one of the most perfect wedding venues in Scotland and a great choice for anyone looking for a luxury hotel break in the Scottish Highlands. We only had a browse through but it did look special.

The Cathedral shot to fame when Madonna and Guy Ritchie, baptised their child there. They used the nearby Skibo Castle for their marriage.

The name 'Dornoch' is derived from the Gaelic for 'pebbly place'.The town is also reputedly where the last witch in Scotland was burnt in 1722 - a fact commemorated by the Witch’s Stone.
