Where to stay --I stayed at Hotel Scoti . Very clean, central and not too expensive . The entrance door on Via Tournabuoni is next to Prada and opposite Cartier . You enter through the large wooden door. We were on the second floor. If you fly Ryanair to Pisa then take the bus to Florence. You will be dropped of at the Train station. Directions to walk to hotel from the Santa Maria Novella railway station in about ten minutes are as follows: take Via Panzani and turn right into Via Rondinelli, which then becomes Via Tornabuoni. Number 7 (blue) is on the right after the traffic lights and directly opposite Cartier. Breakfast is another 5 EURO`S but is a good way to start your day of site seeing. We would like to thank our hosts for sorting the problem with our case.
Camera`s must charged and ready for action. You will think you are going back in history. So capture your memories.
The best way to see the city is on foot. Walk in the footsteps of some of the most famous artists in history.
We climbed to the top of the Duomo. It `s real name is The Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Flower, but it`s better known as Il Duomo di Firenze. There are 463 steps up to the highest point in central Florence.
Giotto’s Campanile (bell tower) offers more spectacular views and the Duomo too.
The views are from Piazzale Michelangelo are special
You have to cross the river Arno. This piazza has a replica statue of Michelangelo's David. There`s wonderful panoramic views over the city. My highlight of the whole trip. The beer was good as well.

Be warned it gets extremely hot in the summer months of June to September. Why not visit during December for the Christmas markets. Not so hot then.
The Ponte Vecchio is the home talented goldsmiths, and a stroll across it still shows a dazzling array of fine jewellery. The bridge links the two sides of the Arno. The Ponte Vecchio is the only bridge on the Arno bridge to survive the Second World War.
We did get offered drugs so beware.
