South Perthshire Roadtrip yesterdy 173 miles
Another Saturday Another day out in the beautiful Scottish highlands.
9.30 start .We were at Tarbet on the West Shore of Loch Lomond by 10.00.Traffic is good by the time we pass the end of the loch at Ardlui . The sun is shinning and the mountains are looking great.Nothing beats a day out in the hills and glens of our country.
We drive through the village of Crianlarich and head east.
Our first stop is to view Loch Lubnair. Nice loch that`s not that popular.
Next stop in Killin. Cool wee village.One of our favourites.
Picturesque Falls of Dochart are here. Amateur photographer`s dream. We have lunch here. Shutters.-- Roll and Lorne Sausage was brill but not that healthy. Walk through the village.
Have a refreshment in Killin Hotel. Really expensive-1.75 for a soda water. The ducks are friendly.
On the road again. We drive along the side of Loch Tay.
We get out at Kenmore and look down the loch.
Very impressive. We had to buy a Snicker at the Cafe--- so we can use their customer only toilet.
We are now heading south.Quick stop at Glen Almond.
Drive through Comrie and on to St Fillans. Get out to take some pics of Loch Earn. Must have done that a hundred times.
Homeward bound we stop in Callander for dinner.
Haggis neeps and tatties gave us the energy to walk up the hill to see the Bracklinn Falls. Well worth the walk.
Straight home after a great day in Southern Perthshire.
