weather dull
Another Saturday another day out in Scotland.
Today we decide to do a Five Loch Roadtrip
Around ten we head off. Easy drive to Aberfoyle.
Aberfoyle is a charming village on the banks of the River Forth. A great base for exploring the Trossachs.
Normally we head up the Dukes Pass to Loch Katrine.
Today we head straight in search of five lochs.

Our plans were to visit as many picturesque lochs as possible.
First up was Loch Ard. Followed by Loch Chon. Drive onto Loch Arklet. Then Loch Katrine and last of all Loch Lomond.
The scenery was amazing. We have visited the area many times. All seasons are different. I find winter the best when you see the Arrocher Alps covered in snow.

If I had to pick my favourite Loch it would be Arklet.
Just because the views over to the Arrocher Alps are amazing. The road is not the best but it has had the pot holes filled in.

This road trip travels along the east bank of Loch Lomond.
You can see the Inversnaid Hotel from Tarbet on the west shore. We had lunch in the hotel which was good and not too expensive. You must make time to see the Falls at the side of the hotel. The hotel is owned by the Loch and Glens Coach Company. So you have to pick a good time for lunch.

After our trip we stopped at the Forth Inn for a drink.
On our return we stop at The Stonefield, Milton /Dumbarton for dinner. Carvery was fine. Another great day out.
