What a charming part of Europe. So easy to travel about.
For many years I have wanted to visit.I am a fan of mountainous countrys. So Slovenia has the Julian Alps. It has 46 kilometres of coastline.
This was my first visit. Hopefully not my last.

Lake Bled
Lake Bled is the jewel in Slovenia`s crown.The town of Bled was our base for exploring.The lake is one of the most beautiful settings in the world. In the centre of the lake is the church- Assumption of Mary. There is also a 11th-century Castle overlooking the lake. Very photographic.
Vintgar Gorge
Up early doors next morning to beat the crowds.The Gorge never let us down.Stunning. Especially early in the morning.It is 1.6-kilometer long. It is worth taking your time to take in the grandeur of the place. Walking boots required.

In the afternoon it was back to bled. We enjoyed a swim in the Lake Cold but fun. Pletna boat is a great way to cross the Lake.
3rd day Ljubljana.
The capital is 55 km`s from our Bled. Well worth a visit.
Ljubljanica River divides the old town from its commercial side.We really only visited the old part. Most picturesque part of the city. Nice meal. In the Afternoon we had a thunderstorm so we headed back to Bled.

Sad to say this was our last day in Slovenia. Scenery was amazing. We enjoyed watching the sheep shutting off the road. High up in the mountains. Watch out for the bears. There are more than a thousand.
