Chasing the Northern lights Blog
We left Trøsmo around six. Our driver Mykola drove east.We were told the weather out there was best for catching a sight of Aurora Borealis.
Our first stop was close to Skibotn village, where the sky was really clear above and to the north.
We went out in the cold Arctic evening for a while.Eyes glued to the dark sky. We waited and waited for our light show to turn up.
Instead, most of the sky clouded over.
We returned to the bus and decide to head towards Finland.
At the border, the stars came out.Thousands and thousands.
Felt like the whole Milky way had came out. Now we had a clear sky.
We drove on till we found a special place.By now the temperature had dropped to -23. Really cold and Lady Aurora had not appeared yet. Hot chocolate and cookies were dished out. some the of guys kindled up a fire.
The Northern Lights seemed a bit shy to show up, but eventually they did! So we put out the fire and got behind the bus to take some pictures. Lady Aurora lasted for a short while.
Wonderful to finally see the Northern lights. One of earth`s
natural wonders. Just after midnight we headed back to Tromso.
We in our hotel for three.
A night I shall never forget.

Aurora Borealis The Northern Lights
It all starts in the sun. A star which keeps our planet alive.
The sun is constantly throws out gases. Those particles become a storm.Which are blasted into space. They travel out from the sun at between 300 and 500 km per second in all directions.
On it`s journey it hits other planets before hitting Earth`s Magnetic shield. Our shield deflect the solar storm out but they return to our polar regions.Only 2 percent hit our planet. They collide with oxygen and nitrogen atoms, they produce dazzling aurora light.Which are known The Northern Lights.
At the end other end of the Earth you can see the Southern lights. They are called aurora austral.
